This is another puzzle toy from Kyjen. The Ball in a Ball is exactly that…a tennis ball inside a large (about 6″ in diameter) rubber ball. The idea is to have the dog try and remove the tennis ball from the larger one. It would require a bit off effort but is certainly not nearly as impossible as other puzzle toys I have come across. In usual style, our dog couldn’t be bothered to work out how to remove the tennis ball but that certainly doesn’t mean it’s not a great toy.
First, the tennis ball that came with this toy was her first introduction to them and it wasn’t long before she started to love chasing the tennis ball. However, the rubber ball is her absolute favorite. The holes in the ball are perfect for grabbing and carrying it around in her mouth. She also chases it, retrieves it, runs around the yard proudly with it….it’s truly endless entertainment. I like the fact it cleans pretty easily and stands up to heavy play very well (although I would image the tennis ball might get a bit mangled eventually but you could easily replace that). I highly recommend this toy for medium to large sized dogs (small dogs might find it too large).
We give Ball in a Ball out of 5 and can be purchased from Kyjen or any petstore for around $20.
